Please Help Us Help Thor

Picture
Thor came to us over a month and a half ago. Everything started off great and then within two weeks he developed demodex mange along with a secondary skin infection. He also had giardia.
Because Thor is an Aussie mix he could not be given ivermectin to treat the mange. We have had him to the vet four times over the last three weeks and as soon as one of the issues is under control another secondary issue pops up. We have changed his diet and now he has developed an eye infection and another secondary skin infection. He has scratched himself raw under his chin and along his mouth.
Little Thor remains happy with a never stopping wagging tail despite all of the difficulties he is facing in his young life.
Thor came to us from a shelter in Kentucky where he was set to be euthanized the next day. He deserves a chance at a happy full filling life.
We are asking for help for Thor's medical and Dietary needs. Donations can be made via paypal or cheque or money order to 889 Jones Point Road , Perth Ontario, K7H 3C7. If you would prefer to make a donation directly to the veterinarian that we use please email info@poetsvisionaussierescue.org

Poet and Lyric
Poet's Vision Aussie Rescue is a volunteer based, registered not for profit organization located in Perth, Ontario.
We are dedicated to rescuing and rehoming deaf and visually impaired Australian Shepherds and Aussie mixes.
The impairments these dogs have are a result of merle to merle breeding.
Through no fault of their own many of these dogs end up abandoned, abused, neglected, dumped and killed because some consider them to be defective and unable to function in a seeing and hearing world. They are not "normal" dogs is what many think. Even if a double merle dog makes it into a shelter their chances of being placed for adoption are slim and many are euthanized due to ignorance.
We know that these dogs can and do lead normal happy lives.

With the help of our volunteer foster families we provide a stable environment where the dogs are treated as one of our own. The dogs brought into our care are given all necessary veterinarian care including spaying and neutering. The dogs are trained in hand signals and touch signals as well as given plenty of opportunities for socialization with other dogs and people.

   I Have A Vision

I have a vision......to help other dogs like me find loving, caring forever homes.

I have a vision......to educate the public about dogs like me and how we are no different from hearing and sighted dogs; we just require a different approach to training.

I have a vision......to provide awareness to society that dogs like me are the result of ignorance and irresponsible breeders.

I have a vision......to save other dogs that are just like me from euthanasia because we are what some people consider "defective"

I have a vision......That We All Deserve A Chance
